Finding a Registered Gestor
To verify a gestor is officially registered or to find a qualified professional near you, consult the official council of gestores administrativos:
If my gestor makes a mistake, who's responsible?
A gestor can prepare and submit your tax filings, but you remain legally responsible for the accuracy of the information filed with the Spanish Tax Agency and Social Security. If an error results in additional tax, interest, or penalties, Hacienda will generally look to you first. If the mistake was caused by your gestor's negligence, you may have a claim against them, particularly if they carry professional liability insurance.
Choose a gestor you trust, review important filings before they're submitted, and keep copies of everything. If you're unsure about a filing or receive a notice from Hacienda or Social Security, contact your gestor immediately.

Notes
Community members emphasized that hiring a gestor greatly reduces administrative burden but does not transfer legal responsibility for tax compliance. If you're engaging a gestor, ask about their qualifications, professional liability insurance, and how they handle errors or disputes.
Why might a gestor charge separately for annual filings?
Some gestor packages cover routine bookkeeping and quarterly filings but exclude year-end declarations and the annual income tax return. In that case, the gestor may charge an additional fee for preparing and submitting the annual forms.
Quarterly filings commonly include Modelo 130 for advance IRPF payments and Modelo 303 for VAT. Annual work may include Modelo 100 (the autónomo's personal income tax return); Modelo 390 (the annual VAT summary, when required); annual summaries such as Modelos 180 or 190 if the autónomo has filed related withholding returns; Modelo 347 or other information returns when applicable; and year-end reconciliation of invoices, expenses, withholding, VAT, assets, and payments already made.
Modelo 100 can require more work because it combines the business results with the autónomo's wider personal tax situation, including employment income, investments, property, foreign income, deductions, and other relevant information.
Before engaging a gestor, ask for a written list showing which quarterly forms are included, which annual forms are included, whether Modelo 100 is included, whether foreign income or assets cost extra, whether bookkeeping and year-end reconciliation are included, and the price for any filing outside the package.

Notes
"Costs more" means the gestor may charge more than the price included in the regular monthly or quarterly package. It does not mean the Tax Agency charges an annual filing fee or that filing annually automatically increases the tax owed. There is no standard additional price — some gestores include all required annual filings in their monthly fee, some charge separately for Modelo 100, and others bill each annual form individually.
